Vitruvian Raven

This is one of my “Updates” of iconic artworks of the past, in this case, Da Vinci’s “Vitruvian Man.” My commentary flattens the square and circle as perhaps the proportions of the Raven are the wiser path, it’s suggestion to hew closer to nature for healing ourselves and the earth. The subtitle is: “Data est Naturae Sapiential (The Wisdom of Nature is Given).” By this, the trickster-wise raven is telling humans to pull back to Nature, to unplug.

Raven Becoming

This is the first beak and eyes.
Starting to figure out the wings and pose.
But beack was too big, so I perfromed a beak-ectomy
Raven starts to stand.
I begin to figure out the wings and circel.
Mock up of the wingspan.
Developing the wing feathers. Each pre-textured. Then shaped, eventually soldered together.
Tail feathers being developed.
First layer of wings partially on. There is a full and strong hidden, internal structure to support the wing span.
Second layer of wings set for attachment process.
